Pakistan Army violates ceasefire again, fires indiscriminately along LoC in Pallanwala.

JAMMU & KASHMIR | 30 Aug 2013 :: After a two-day lull, Pakistan Army again violated the ceasefire by targeting forward posts along the LoC in Jammu district, drawing retaliation from Indian forces.

"Pakistan Army opened indiscriminate and unprovoked firing on forward posts along the LoC in Pallanwala sub-sector in Jammu district around 11:30 pm hours on Thursday night", a senior Army officer said on Friday. Pakistan Army fired from small and automatic weapons on the forward posts along LoC.
Indian troops guarding the borderline used similar calibre weapons and strongly retaliated, triggering fierce exchanges, which continued till midnight on Thursday night, he said. There was no loss of life or injury to any one in the fresh firing.
There was no firing or ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the LoC from 3.15 pm on August 27 to 11.30 pm on August 29.
Pakistani troops had violated the ceasefire on August 27 by firing on Indian posts along LoC in Bhimber Gali sub-sector of Poonch district.
There has been almost daily firing and mortar shelling by Pakistani Army in the Poonch-Rajouri sector since August 6 with a total of over 30 ceasefire violations recorded this month.

KORAPUT | ODISHA | 27 Aug 2013 ::  At least three Border Security Force personnel were killed and two injured when Naxals blew up their vehicle in an IED blast in Odisha's Koraput district

A convoy of three BSF vehicles carrying 18 personnel was ambushed when it was travelling from Patangi to Sunki in the district at around 0930 AM during an official movement, sources said. 

The Improvised Explosive Device (IED), embedded in the road, exploded as the first vehicle in the convoy crossed the area, resulting in the death of three troopers. 

Two injured personnel have been rushed to the nearby hospital in Sunki while a gunfight was on at the blast site when the reports last came in. 

Additional reinforcements from state police and paramilitary force have ben rushed, the sources said.

SRINAGAR, India / Jammu and Kashmir | AFP | 18 Jul 2013 :: Indian paramilitary troops Thursday shot dead six people protesting outside a Border Security Force station in Kashmir, two police officers said.
The incident happened in Gool, 230 kilometres south of the main city of Srinagar, the officers said on condition of anonymity.
“It is mayhem. Six are dead and dozens injured. The death toll could rise further,” said one.
Protesters had gathered outside the Border Security Force (BSF) station to demonstrate against an incident involving troops at a mosque on Wednesday evening, witnesses said.
The troops had entered the mosque in Gool to complain about the loud recitation of prayers by worshippers during the holy month of Ramazan, the witnesses told AFP.
Worshippers gathered outside the security force station from early Thursday to protest at the incident.
“The BSF soldiers fired indiscriminately, downing protesters left, right and centre,” one witness who declined to be identified told AFP by phone from the nearby village of Dharam.(Courtesy : Dawn)
